Community guidelines
Last updated: September 1, 2026
GamerLog is a gaming diary shared with other people. These guidelines explain what we expect from everyone who participates (reviews, comments, profiles, guilds) and what moderation does when they are not followed. They complement the terms of use.
Respect other people
There is a person behind every profile. Disagreeing with a review or an opinion about a game is fine, as long as it stays respectful: criticize ideas, not the person writing them.
- No insults, harassment, threats or personal attacks.
- No hate speech: racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or any other form of discrimination.
- Do not impersonate other people or publish their private information.
Honest, useful reviews
Reviews are the heart of the site: they tell your real experience with a game so it helps other people.
Reviews that are not reviews get moderated: spam, advertising, text unrelated to the game, or coordinated campaigns to inflate or sink a score (review bombing).
- Write about the game and your experience with it.
- Clearly mark major spoilers or avoid them.
- Do not manipulate ratings with alternate accounts or coordinated votes.
Your profile and your images
Your profile (avatar, banner, bio and aliases) is how the community sees you. The bar is what would be acceptable in a game store: no sexually explicit content, gratuitous gore, hate symbols or images that infringe other people's rights.
Guilds
Guilds are communities within the community, and whoever creates one is responsible for it: its name, emblem, description and links must follow these same guidelines.
A guild dedicated to harassment, discrimination or spam will be hidden or removed, and its owner may lose their account.
No spam, no cheating
Do not use GamerLog as a billboard, and do not try to break it.
- No unsolicited advertising, link chains or mass self-promotion.
- Do not mass-create accounts or automate actions without permission.
- Do not exploit bugs: if you find one, report it.
Moderation
The moderation team can hide reviews, comments and guilds that break these guidelines and, in serious or repeated cases, suspend accounts.
Hiding content does not delete it: it stays out of public view while it is reviewed. If you believe a decision was a mistake, contact us and we will review it.
How to report
Every profile, guild, review and comment has a report button. Pick a reason, add context if you have it, and the moderation team will review it. We will email you once it is resolved.
If what you found is a bug on the site or an idea to improve it, that is not a report: tell us through the bugs and suggestions form, which needs no account.
